Mavromati is the product of generational textile handicrafts, taking on the therapeutic practice of knitting while also playing with gender and queerness through these hand knitted pieces. Mavromati seeks to create an alternative reality that draws on the lives on fantastical marine creatures and the abundance of experiences we share.
The watery ladders of the Seaweed Tanks mirror the organic movement of seaweed underwater. This sense of fluidity and transformation is physically knitted into the tanks, gently stretching to fit evolving bodies.Size guide to the Seaweed tank is here.
